Gulliver’s Travel Part 2

Shortly after returning home Gulliver once again sets for sail. Gulliver set for sale June 20, 1702. His destined location was Surat but he ended up in “The Cape of Good Hope”. Once leaving there they ended up finding an island where they could search for food and resources. Gulliver looks for food and everything but finds nothing. He sets to return the boat with his crew. once arriving he is shocked by what he sees. Gulliver was then taken by this massive person. The giant of course spoke a different language so Gulliver had to learn the language of the giants. Later on Gulliver was used as a show act. Everyone found him interesting because he was so tiny and they had never seen anything like him. They then traveled all around using Gulliver as a money attraction. After this started Gulliver soon was run to the grown. He was then bought by the queen for a large amount of gold pieces. Once there it was a problem. The queen already had a dwarf and now that Gulliver was the shortest person around he took his spot. The dwarf didn’t like this. He did everything in his power to keep Gulliver away and out of sight. As usual Gulliver tries everything in his power to please the king and queen but he just can’t. Gulliver then decides it’s time to travel home. On his journey he was awaken and found himself in the air. He falls in the water and just so happen its by an English ship and travels home.

The authors purpose behind writing this was to inform you on how the 18th century really was. He does this in a joking sarcastic tone but still in a way that you can see the mockery. He made another character opposite of King George I. Now that he is with giants and not the little people he sees how much size and power affected the European society in the 18th century.
